What is Skilled Nursing?
Skilled nursing services or care refers to a patient's need for care or treatment that can only be performed by a licensed nurse. In order to be deemed skilled, the service must be so inherently complex that it can only be safely and effectively performed by a nurse. A home health nurse provides skilled services in keeping with a physician’s plan of care for a home health care patient.
